Remove baby poo stains

Hi, I'm a first time poster so I'm not sure if this is in the right section.

I'm a first time mum. DD is 4 months. She's starting to sit up and likes to poo while sitting up. Her poo ends up all on her back and through her clothes rather than in the nappy.

I use fairy non bio for her washing but it doesn't seem to get of the poo stain.

Can anyone please advise on I can use to get rid of the poo stains.

Many thanks xx

Daylight. It's the bilirubin in the poo that causes the yellow stains. Same as in jaundice. UV light breaks it down in the same way. Even hanging them on the line on a rainy day will fix it, or leave on a windowsill for 24 hours.

Milton's fluid before being put in the wash has worked really well for me, even got spaghetti sauce out of my favourite white shirt! Sunlight also helps a lot, to get rid of the yellowing after the wash.

@mumofone94 you know, it’s funny it actually took me ages to get the right aisle in the supermarket so just want to check you’ve tried looking with the baby stuff and not just the fabric detergents etc?

Yes, I was coming on to say have you checked the right aisle. It’s with sterilising and bath equipment in my Sainsburys. Took me a very long time to find it. In fact only ordered it online to start with.

@Biscuitsandteaplease @DobbyTheHouseElk I only checked the detergent aisle. I was going mad scanning everything trying to find it

I find just wash as soon as humanly possible rather than soaking - napisan for first wash then follow up with vanish gold and a normal wash if the first one doesn't get it out.

Have you tried simply hanging it on the washing line in daylight yet? It really does work with no cost or effort. Might take a little longer in winter sun but worth a try.
Interesting to read the reason it works from Smellmysmellbow.

For future if you get the clothes in a rinse cycle ASAP you don't normally need to faff around with anything else.

@BrightonBB I haven't tried that yet. Will give it ago the next time DD poops through her clothes
