Best night time nappies

We use Eco nappies during the day and they’re great but seen to come apart during the night, tried Pampers and Asda’s own but little man still soaking by morning - should I try the pull up types for night time?

Have you considered cloth?

minnie465 · 29/12/2019 08:45

Tesco rascal and friends organic nappies are the only ones that keep my DS dry throughout the night. They seem to come up higher at the front and back. They are on offer regularly usually 2 packs for £8.

I use + sizes for nights, so if you're in size 4 during the day try 4+ at night.

When you say soaking is the nappy leaking?

minnie465 · 29/12/2019 08:48

I agree @BertieBotts size up to + and make sure vests aren't too snug.

thatguiltyfeeling · 29/12/2019 08:55

We cloth at night, I use a disana wool nappy cover and bamboo little lambs nappies boosted as much as possible.
When we were using disposables we found Lidl were the best for our heavy wetter

fedupandlookingforchange · 29/12/2019 08:55

lidl with the magical tubes are the only ones that keep ds dry overnight and I have tried cloth nappies.

Cait73 · 29/12/2019 08:56

The eco nappies leak because one side tape has always come off, the others just seem to leak at the sides

I use Pampers size 4 pull-ups and they seem more absorbent than the regular 4+ that I use during the day.

pjani · 29/12/2019 08:57

Just saw your update - yes the pull-ups seem less vulnerable to leaks around the side.

Cait73 · 29/12/2019 08:57

@minnie465 thank you I’ll try those, do you size up?

Pull ups are more expensive and do the same job as a nappy, so there’s no point using one on such a young baby.

ToTravelIsToLive · 29/12/2019 09:26

I recommend cloth. We switched and they are brilliant! Can recommend tots bots bamboozle with a wrap and booster

Abouttimemum · 29/12/2019 09:36

Just cut and paste this from another thread!!

My son has always been a really heavy wetter and we haven’t changed his nappy in the night (except dirty) since he started sleeping through but he would wake up every morning soaking (didn’t bother him but bothered me). And I was always washing his sleeping bags. We tried every brand and every size and he’d always soak through.
We double nappy, put lots of small holes in his normal size nappy so that it relieves the pressure and put a nappy pant over the top, he has been dry every single night, no issues at all. Literally the only thing that worked for us.

minnie465 · 29/12/2019 11:54

@Cait73 unfortunately there are no inbetween/+ sizes for the rascal and friends. They do seem slightly bigger fitting than others though. We are using 5+ Lidl lupilu during the day and size 6 in rascal and friends at night at the minute.
We tried the bigger vest and Lidl plus size at night at first. Def helped but he was still wet by morning.

Nightmanagerfan · 29/12/2019 11:55

Cloth is great for night. Never had a leak here!

minnie465 · 29/12/2019 11:55

My LO is 20 months now. Thankfully has been drinking less milk now before bed so I think we could go back to Lidl nappies at night soon.

onedream · 29/12/2019 13:41

Not just for night time but overall I find cloth nappies best never had a leak during day or night..fitted nappy and wrap for night time boosted if needed it's definitely worth a try if you up for it..you can just buy one as a trial and see how you get on with it..

Cait73 · 29/12/2019 15:21

Cloth nappies would definitely be my preference but I don’t have a washing machine 😣

Wool covers don't need a washing machine! You could use your eco nappy that leaks underneath as long as it isn't massive leaks and then once a month hand wash and lanolize. Research them a bit but there are quite a few sales on right now!

Kcoffecakebubs · 01/01/2020 12:32

We switched to pampers baby dry nappy pants at 6 months old. Will never look back, no leaks and much easier to get on a wriggly baby!
