Away for the night and toddler has thrown up at Dsis

First night away from 20month old and we have left him with DSIS.. just had a call to say he's thrown up after his nap but seems ok now. Not sure what to do, we have face timed him and he looks fine dancing round to baby shark with his cousins and eating an ice lolly (temp 36.6). I totally trust my sister to look after him but I was already feeling guilty about taking a night away and now this is just adding to that. We are about 1.5 hrs away.. We decided to wait and hour and see how he is but now I'm questioning that.. should we just write tonight off and go get him now?

What would getting him now achieve? If it's a bug then his cousins are already exposed and he will be asleep by the time you get there.
Dows your sis want you to pick him up? If she is demanding you come get him the you probably need to but if she isn't then just leave him be.

I'd leave him, if he's ill he'll sleep, you being there won't change things as long as your sister is competent

Thanks. It would literally be going home to pick him up and put him to bed by the time we got back. He has only been sick once and not for two hours. Sister says he is fine and has sent videos of him running round laughing and dancing so he seems ok. Thanks for reassurance, think we will stay for now :)

He's fine, probably just excitement/ overindulgence.

If I were your sister I probably wouldn't have told you if he was otherwise fine Blush

You trust your sister and she's sent you videos of him so you know he's essentially OK. If he was a crying pukey mess then going home would be right but it sounds like he's not. Enjoy your night!

Oh well he's been sick again so we are going to finish our meal and go and collect him... maybe we'll try again next Christmas lol Xmas Wink
