Nappy scheme option - good plan?

I discovered a local scheme where you can buy a trial pack for about £70. In that you get 7 different nappies to try and three wraps. Someone will come to your house and demonstrate each nappy. Then when you have a better idea of what you would like you can order more from them for a discount of 25%. I thought it sounded pretty good - what do people here think. My only concern is that if I decide I like only one of those nappies I will have paid for six nappies I don't want.

I think there are quite a few companies that do home demos if you want. My local council had a lending kit with all sorts of nappies, so you can get a better idea of what you want. Also my council give £30 Cash Back. I think this worked out as roughly 25% of what I spent.

There are lots of lovely nappies sellers on here who will give unbiased advice too. Check out small business ads x

I agree that it is a good idea to 'try before you buy'. Like mozzybear, my council (Leicestershire) does a lending scheme; give £30 cash back and, if you use the lending scheme, 10% off anything you buy. It is worth looking into it, you never know, your council might do the same.
If not, the scheme you have found sounds pretty good. If you find that there are some nappies you don't like much, they might be handy as spares or you may well find someone who does like them.
Hope you find something that works for you

The 25% off sounds very good. You can always sell on the ones you don't like. It sounds a good scheme to me

There are many different schemes you can find, at Plush Pants we do a Nappy Trial Scheme where you choose what you want to try, pay a deposit, and then after a couple of weeks trial return the nappies. If you order, your deposit is kept as part payment against your order, if you don't want to buy, that's fine, your deposit is refunded less a charge of £1 per item per week (so 8 items for 2 weeks would cost you £16). The scheme has been running for many years now and is always pretty popular. Always happy to advise if you need it too - though you'll get heaps of advice here!
