Cool air humidifier if you have one. That’s one first time mum panic buy I’ve actually used loads with both kids.

Sadly night time is worse because of nasal drip. Lying down and a runny nose doesn’t mix well. You can try cough syrup etc and it might work but unfortunately you can just be unlucky and have a cougher. Try warm water and honey before bed. Hope he’s better soon

Vicks on the bottom of their feet and socks on. I'm in the same hell with my 2 yo.

Calpol plug-in, snuffle babe vapour rub on soles of feet. Only things that make it bearable in my experience

junenotoffred · 21/12/2019 18:18

My 5 y/o is the same - in desperation last night Dr Google came up with putting a damp towel on the radiator - within 30 minutes the coughing was spaced out enough that she fell asleep & didn't wake when she coughed.

Vicks humidifier. Bought from chemist for around £20 I think and we used it lots, really eased the cough as it opens the lungs.

Put towels down over the floor/chairs etc tho as it creates loads of water everywhere!

Shuffle rub on soles of feet with socks on. I put it on his chest and back also.

And get a humidifier it helped my son, he is just starting again with a runny nose and chest cough,,just in time for Christmas Angry

DM swears by sweet tea. Generous few teaspoons of sugar. Perhaps decaf though Grin

Absolutely 100% agree with this.
