Aspirating popcorn?

After some reassurance or advice or experience.
I have one DD, 18 months, and me and her dad took her out to lunch today and let her eat some of the popcorn they bring to the table before you order. I had no idea you weren't supposed to give young children popcorn (I do now from google) and she choked a bit and coughed/puked a bit of it up.
She was then fine and drank/ate other food, had a nap, all normal.
She's got a bit of a cold anyway, is very snotty and was coughing last night, but now I'm paranoid that she's coughing loads more post popcorn, and of course google also brings up stories of toddlers aspirating popcorn and needing operations and getting pneumonia etc etc etc.
Has anyone got any experience of this? Am I being a paranoid idiot and she's just got a cold? Will I be laughed out of the drs office if I take her tomorrow if it gets worse?

If her coughing has increased, then you should take her to the GP for assessment anyway, in case her cold has progressed to a chest infection, regardless of the popcorn. Tell them about the popcorn also, but she probably coughed that out at the time - it’s very rough irritant stuff if it gets into the airway.
The GP will not think you’re wasting their time at all, and you will have peace of mind.

Thank you that's kind of you to reply, the cough has just carried on the same really, I'll take her to the gp tomorrow and get them to have a look at her
