Our little one loved Ewan, but I suspect that either will have much the same effect.

We have both. Tbh I don’t know if they work or baby would sleep anyway - I just play the music and I enjoy it lol.
Both work (or don’t lol) equally as well

Ewan didn't work for us so I wouldn't bother with anything like that again.

I wanted a Ewan but it’s as too expensive and I couldn’t get one second hand.

We got an Ollie the Owl and it seemed to really help at the time.

Neither- get a (free) white noise app on your phone. DD couldn't have been less interested in Ewan, but one day when she was bawling her eyes out I just had to let her cry whilst I blowdried my hair. As soon as I turned on the hairdryer she stopped. Basically Ewan is too quiet for this little raver!

Added benefit is that you generally always have your phone to hand, whereas a bulky soft toy isn't that convenient to sling in the nappy bag.

Thank you all. Seen some really good reviews on both.

We used phone for older two children but was a slight pain when people texted or rang ect.

I had Ewan which I found very soothing but it did nothing for my babies. Also only runs for 20 minutes which is just not long enough. Then I tried a myhummy, was ok but found it hard to get to the right volume and didn’t particularly like any of the sound options. It also ate batteries like mad. Then I bought a white noise machine, just a little box that powers via a usb cable, you can set it to time out or have it playing all night. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to sleep without it once the baby goes into his own room!

I have Bennie the Bear and love it!! The white noise is a bit too loud but the music is really pleasant. I usually place it under a blanket to make it quieter and the length of time plus activation to noise or movement is ideal. If the music cuts off when I'm BFing I kick the duvet with my foot and it starts again. I used it for every nap and bedtime, and DD (12months) developed a pavlovian reaction to the music. As soon as it plays she starts rubbing her eyes so putting her to bed is now such a relief.

She also learned to self-settle at night because Bennie will activate when she makes noise and I got my first 7 uninterrupted hours of sleep since birth. I don't actually place it in the crib as I'm worried about the sleep risks, and she starts playing with it instead of sleeping. I just leave it inside the cupboard or under a blanket to muffle the music a bit.

Tune a radio into static and turn volume to whatever you want. Or tune in to radio 4 and turn down to quiet murmuring. Works a treat w dc.
