Snack before bed for a 1 year old

Does anyone do this?
Is it a bad thing to do?
My 1 year old loves a weetabix before bed and he sleeps so much better with a full tummy.
I tend to do this when he hasn't eaten much during the day (so not every night).

I don't see the harm but I'd only do it before brushing and only give water (or breast milk if breastfeeding) after brushing otherwise it's bad for little ones teeth.

We don't but then we do dinner at 6/6.30 for everyone, including our 17 month old - most people I know seem to give their toddler dinner at 4.30 or 5 and I presume they do then give a snack before bed because it's such a long time to breakfast? I wouldn't worry about it, anyone (as long as, as pp says, it's before teeth brushing), I'm sure what they eat across the day balances out and it's a Weetabix not a bag of haribo!

We have Always done dinner later so it's big dinner, so a full tum, then bed. DS has always been in bed within an hour of eating dinner. Sometimes it's within 10 minutes.

But a banana, weetabix etc is fine as long as teeth are brushed afterwards.

Unless you wanted to switch it around and do snack at 4:30/5pm and then dinner later at 6-6:30pm?

@MrsTumbletap that's a good idea actually! Thank you!

DD is just 12 months old. We don't do a bedtimes snack at the moment because she goes to bed around an hour after she's had her dinner and then breastfeeds before bed. When she starts nursery in January if she has an early dinner there I can see us doing a snack at home before bedtime.

My lad would eat at 5, snack at 6 and then bath and bed by 7pm. And without both would wake. He still eats like a thing possessed now and he's 11!!

We used to find toast, Weetabix and banana, porridge or the fruit toast good.

Obviously clean teeth afterwards.

My dd eats at 3.30 at her nursery so I give her a snack at around 6pm. She’s a perfectly healthy weight and sleeps really well.

No - at that age it was dinner at 5, bottle at 6.30, bed at 7.
Only becomes an issue if you sense he’s eating less dinner knowing he has weetabix to come

I started this for my 5 year old in the last year as he was suffering from low blood sugar first thing in morning caused by too long without eating (13/14 hours). GP agreed with me that a small supper is a good idea.
