Cleaner

I am about to take on a bit more work and would like to get a cleaner to help with housework. Can't go mad, probably max 2 hours per week. House is not terribly clean or tidy generally (2 small children, husband does very little). I have no experience of using a cleaner so just wondered how people use the time? I'm not sure whether to get them to do a bigger job each time eg the oven one week, clean some windows another week, or whether to ask them to do some more regular stuff eg bathrooms? Also, how do I know how much is reasonable to expect them to do in an hour? All advice very welcome, just not sure where to start!

I have a four bed and in two hours my cleaner does the bathrooms/toilet, kitchen/utility and Hoover's and mops through leaving me to dust and tidy, do beds and an interim hoover and mop. Works for us as I feel like the house is clean with the bathrooms and kitchen done if I'm late with the dusting!

Thank you, that's really helpful. This might be a stupid question, but what do they do in the kitchen?

Hi, no worries. They do cupboard fronts and handles, work surfaces cleared and given a proper clean not just a wipe, hob and splash back, sink/draining board and taps, cooker and microwave front, cooker hood when needed.

Thank you. That seems a lot to do in 2 hours but I really hate housework and I think I'm probably not very efficient at getting it done! Also never have 2 hours uninterrupted to do it.... Do you tidy all stuff off floors etc before they come? (Our house is pretty cluttered).
