Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My youngest was a bit like that and for developmental reasons, we were under consultant care so saw a physio who suggested an activity table to help. It worked a treat- it was very interactive and he would pull himself up to play with it. Might be worth investing?

My DD first pulled to stand at 11 months but didn't start doing it regularly til she was 1. She's 18m and has caught up a bit with her gross motor skills over the last couple of months (she learnt to walk about 6 weeks ago). I would try not to worry but I would express your concerns with your HV. Have they had their 1yr development check yet?

I think one of the reasons DD didn't do this earlier/as much was lack of reason/opportunity to do so. We literally didn't have a single piece of furniture in our house that was suitable for this purpose. She first did it on a very awkward, wobbly, difficult to hold pet's cage! Her next target was her cotbed, to stand up in the mornings once she'd woken up. I don't think you need to do anything to encourage them per se but yes, maybe an activity centre or some kind of toys that would interest them and give them a reason to pull to stand could give them a reason to do it, iyswim.
