Colief she breastfeeding on demand... Help!

Hi everyone, I need help! My brain can't work all this out... I've got some Colief to give my 4 week old DD as she's very colicky and infacol and gripe water don't seem to have helped (been through some trial and error over the past couple weeks). We're also doing all the other suggested methods for easing colic... Bicycle legs, tummy massage, rocking, dummy etc.

I'm breastfeeding on demand, and she has no regular feeding schedule so sometimes wants to feed every hour, sometimes every 2 and a half hours throughout the day. The Colief instructions of expressing "a few tablespoons" BEFORE EVERY feed, then give on a spoon, just won't be practical - I can't anticipate when she'll want feeding through the day to prep the dosage and she won't be patient enough for me to express every time before feeding her (she doesn't give any gentle cues when hungry anymore - she goes from fast asleep to screaming for milk in seconds!)

Has anyone had any positive experience of giving Colief in any alternative method while BF? Any advice for a desperate, exhausted and overwhelmed 1st-time Mum?!

Hello!! Definitely didnt want to read and run from this one as I had the exact same dilemma 😫 ... you will probably find in the next couple of weeks you lo gets to some form of schedule (mine was mostly every 2 hours!). I used to Express a small amount of breastmilk in the morning and leave in the fridge. I then purchased a small baby medicine dispenser off amazon (with a teat like a small baby bottle) .. I filled a couple of spoons of the chilled breastmilk and warmed in a bottle warmer (which you can leave in for a little while, or it's really quick using boiled water in a jug) When my baby was ready to feed I added the colief to the warmed milk and gave her this before breastfeeding. It was a bit of a pain, but the medicine dispenser made it soooo much easier.. (ps co lactase is cheaper and is the same as colief)

I have heard of mums puttung it on their nipple :o

You can also just drop I T onto a spoon and feed. A weaning spoon works well.

Express in the morning and then feed it using a sippy cup. Also no need to warm it up. Babies will take the breast milk straight from the fridge.

some babies will take breast milk straight from the fridge

Some babies will be ok with a sippy cup

How long did you try infacol for btw? Worked wonders for us but it takes quite a few days to build up to a level where it helps
