What to feed a poorly child?

My kids have both been ill with a bad cough and cold and they have a lot of phlegm on their chest which is ending up in their stomachs and making them sick. I'm asking for suggestions for dinner ideas that are gentle on tummies but will fill them up enough so they sleep as well as they can. I was going to give them beans on toast but I'm wondering if all that fibre isn't a good idea? I don't want anything with tomatoes in as I don't fancy cleaning orange vomit stains. My sleep deprived brain is struggling to think straight so I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Thank you.

Chicken rice soup is great for this.

Rice is really gentle on the stomach. Like pp chicken and rice soup is a good idea. Or a light risotto.

I remember my doctor telling me when my DS was ill to give him fish fingers. Light on his stomach, but tasty so appetising. Grill them well so they are reasonably ‘solid’. That way they can be eaten as finger food which makes things easier if your child is very young and feeling poorly, can be eaten when cuddled on the sofa for instance so no mess.
