Just had a peruse of my old posts and a good old giggle at how I thought I would never let my baby watch TV.

He's now almost 2 and Hey Duggee is my lifesaver. Wouldn't get a coffee in the morning without him.

*also said no sugar. (Ha)

Trying to think of more...

(Also this isn't meant to be snarky at anyone who currently thinks these things, they may well stick by them!)

Me and the TV thing. Definitely.

Oh, and how I'd 'patience and understanding' myself through the toddler years. Ha!

TiptopJ · 28/11/2019 19:43

Pre motherhood for years i looked down my nose and really judged parents who gave their young toddlers pasties or sausage rolls from Gregg's. I thought it was disgusting with all the fat and crap going round their new little bodies and its the height of lazy parenting.

My 2 year old occasionally enjoes a GreggsBlush

I used to silently judge people who let their toddlers watch videos to keep them happy on public transport. Yeah, that was me today...

To be fair, it was the first time I've done it, but still. I could feel my pre-baby self judging me.

Much the same.

No telly. No screens ever.

No sugar. No unhealthy food at all. Not even any pouches. And certainly no sucking fruit purée or yoghurt straight out of the pouch. Nope.

Ragwort · 28/11/2019 19:48

I also gave my baby a dummy after never thinking I would (but never in public Grin.

I remember wandering round the shops with my mum whilst pregnant and announcing 'oh I'm never going to put my child in jogging bottoms and leggings. You can buy such lovely proper trousers'. Now mum of 2 and drowning in piles of them.

Dummy. I still hate them but my daughter still has one at 2.5 for bedtime 🙈

I did avoid sugar until 12 months but now I’m wayyyy more lenient.. what’s life without a biscuit hey!

Minimal TV - HA! This is the biggest one. My daughter watches TV allll the time! Thank goodness for Bing Bunny (the obnoxious little horror).

That I wouldn’t let my child become a fussy eater - turns out despite my best efforts, home cooked food, family all eating together etc, my 2.5 year old lives off sausages & fish fingers Confused She age so well until 18 months as well.. I try not to stress about it..

I was never going to give my babies biscuits to get five minutes peace. My 15 month old twins now live a Rich TeaGrin
