do the daughter's know each other?
sounds fine to me if so

nailpolish · 21/08/2007 09:27

i did say yes!
i said "is it fine with you if i walk round to yours incase dd1 is a bit shy?"
after she offered to collect dd1

it just hit me though that she is a total stranger

That is a really nice gesture if she knows you are new to the area, take her up on it and stay for a cuppa.

elesbells · 21/08/2007 09:28

perhaps there is no other children around thats her age?

i think its a nice welcome. you may have even found a new friend as well as dd

nailpolish · 21/08/2007 09:28

oh pruners this mum wh o has asked me is one of those 'super-confident' mums. but she seems lovely

be brave pruners, deep breath...

Maybe next time you see her, suggest that you all go for a picnic after school on Friday. That way you'll be able to get to know her and DD a little better.

We have recently moved to a new area and found it quite alien when people were so friendly and inviting us to lots of things going on in the community. Sad isnt really it but it takes a little bit of getting used to and dont just want to let your littles one go and play at a complete strangers house.

im sure she will ask me in for a cuppae when i walk round to theirs after we collect them from school
