It is totally normal, my DD started nursery 2 days a week when she was 2.7 and I loved having some time to myself. Some people just don't admit it!! Enjoy your well-earned freedom!

I'm looking forward to DD starting pre-school next Easter (she'll be 2.5). She's been looking forward to going for the last year or so .

There have bene times when we've been dropping off DS and she's disappeared to go and play .

I was the same as you, couldn't wait for DD to start at kindergarten and she had just turned 3. I think many mums think the same but just can't/won't admit to it but having talked to those same mums throughout the year sooner or later they trip themselvs up and the truth comes out! We're all human after all, and a bit of time apart makes you appreciate the DC's again....absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that!

I couldn't wait. I was itching to get back to doing some exercise and having a bit of time to myself.

She's now off to school in a couple of weeks and strangely I'm still as unfit (but I've made some lovely friends online ).

I am already looking forward to DC2 starting pre-school and he/she is not born yet!

Dropdeadfred · 20/08/2007 21:18

I'm so thick about all this stuff now but what exactly is pre-school? Is it a paid nursery attached to an infant school?
My dd is 2.3...when should she go?

Biglips · 20/08/2007 21:19

drop - yes. Find out in your local pre-school as i found out mine was not before age of 3 and others was before 3. All preschools are different.

Dd's pre-school wasn't attached to a school, but some are I think. She started when she was 2.6 and I had to pay for her sessions, but the term after their 3rd birthday the sessions are paid for by the Government.
