Nervous about vaccinations

8 replies

My baby is due his vaccinations tomorrow and I’m getting very nervous, one because I hate seeing them cry when they get them and two because of all the articles all those anti vaxers post on social media. My two eldest had them done and only suffered slight fevers and a bit unhappy for a day or so after. Am I just getting more paranoid in my older age? Should I be worried? Please help put my mind at ease.

Hey hun it’s normal to feel nervous and it’s horrid seeing your babies crying because of a jab, but they are so worth having!! A few days of nigglyness compared to a possible more serious illness is a no brainer . Both my boys had the jab ( my youngest is 5 months ) I have to admit I did cry when both had them but just cuz seeing them upset made me upset ( mother thing I guess ) but I knew it was the right thing for them to have the jabs. Just keep calpol on hand and lots of lovely snuggles. Please don’t be worried your doing the right thing!! Xx

I remember feeling nervous about seeing DD upset and worried about how poorly she would be afterwards too.

But just like your older DC she was a bit grumpy with a high temp. DD also went off her food and was more tired than usual but was her usual self again within a few days.

Remember, vaccinations are super important and you're doing the best thing for your DC by taking them to have their vaccinations.

The anti vax movement is not based on factual evidence. Claims of vaccinations causing autism etc are false and have been disproven.

While there are risks of vaccinations, the risks are small and outweigh the benefits. As you said your older two DC have been fine and I'm sure your youngest will be too.

Are they your DCs first set of vaccines?
Good luck Smile

Don’t forget that you need to take calpol with you.

Thanks ladies, I definitely needed a few positive words. I lost a baby before I had my son and I think I’m a little bit over protective and worry more with him then I did with my eldest two because of this. Calpol is in my changing bag ready. Those anti vaxers just make you doubt yourself but I know getting him vaccinated is what’s best.

Sorry for your loss Thanks

Hope it goes smoothly! Both of mine cried for approximately 10 seconds and were easily placated with a bottle/boob. They barely had any side affects from them. I think DD had a slight temperature for a day and that was it.

Anti vax people are crazy!

Everyone hates the process but its quickly done. Anti vaxers have a lot to answer for, including deaths

@roundaround thank you! Flowers

I survived his injections, I forgot how heartbreaking they are but I had more of a excuse to cuddle him all day. Apart from a few crying outbursts he has slept a bit so hopefully tomorrow he feels better.
Thanks again ladies
