Does anyone know what this could be?

My DD is 9 months old and has always had the odd patch of dry skin since she was born. I usually use coconut oil which usually does the trick.

However the dry patches seem to be increasing and have spread from arms to legs over the last few weeks. The coconut oil doesn’t seem to be working.

DD is not bothered by these patches so can’t imagine they would be sore or itchy.

I did call my health visitor and she recommended going to the pharmacy to see if they could prescribe another type of lotion. I plan to do this today but unsure if I should be consulting a GP?

Does anyone know what this could be?

Are they kind of crusty feeling? If so it could possibly be impetigo, my DD had it and it cleared up easily with a prescribed cream....always flares up this time of year with the cold/central heating combo! Pharmacist is a good call, they can give you an idea of its GP-worthy or not.

Can’t see clearly but looks ringwormish.

Crusty yellow for impetigo. Flat with deeper pink edge suggests ring worm. Impetigo go to GP. Ringworm go to pharmacy for anti fungal.

Thank you. Doesn’t seem crusty. Just rough to touch. Ringworm did come up as a possibility when I looked online but wasn’t sure.

Heading to pharmacy once DD wakes from her nap. Just didn’t want to leave it in case it was something serious!

This looks quite similar to when DS had to ringworm; however DDs eczema can sometimes look similar.

I have a rash that looks like that. It flares up every year in the cold weather. it's not overly itchy unless the house is too hot. Not really had a proper diagnosis for it. Had anti fungal cream, had steroid cream etc. Me and the doctor have thought it would be a number of things Pityriasis rosea, eczema (I suffer from so many different types), ringworm. The fungal treatment didn't work but the steroid cream did to an extent. If I catch it early with some E45 it delays the symptoms for a while. Sometimes my skin temporarily skin discolouration but it sorts it's self out over the summer months. Wish I could be more of help but it definitely looks like something the doctor should see

The pharmacist wasn’t overly helpful. She suggested using a different moisturiser and guided me to Aveeno for babies. I’ll try it for a few days but think I’ll see the GP if it doesn’t start to clear up as the pharmacist was very vague and non committal as to what it could be.
