Should I wake my 7 week old baby to feed?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted a bit of advice as a first time mummy. My LG is 7 weeks and has started sleeping from about 1130/12- 6am (which I thought was great as we were both getting more sleep) lol but my health visitor told me not to let her go more than 4/5 hours without a bottle. My question is how will she ever get into a routine if I'm waking her during the night?

I agree with PP. if baby is gaining weight well and having wet nappies and well during the day, don’t wake ! I woke my son up every 4-5 hours until around 7 weeks but he was born on the 91sf percentile so eventually I thought what on earth am I doing ! And then he woke out of habit. Only just getting longer stretches of sleep now at 17 weeks.

Enjoy the sleep while you can. It can change before you know it !

You need to firstly know that your little one should be getting fed at least 3 - 4 times a day if you're bottle feeding. If you're breast feeding, you may feel free to feed on the go.

I've personally never felt the need to wake my children up in the middle of the night for a feed purely because they should be getting used to a daily routine.
