Hi everyone I'm new here but I am really struggling with a fear of vomiting. Of me getting a bug, my son getting a bug... Its literally taking over my life the hand washing etc.

I've just had an email article pop up into my inbox saying norovirus is back and now my heart is racing :(

Is there anyone else out there?

I'm exactly the same, its truly awful. Thankfully my 3 year old has only had one sick bug and we didnt catch it (touches wood furiously!!!!)
I have had one sick bug in 3 years too but came into contact with someone being sick on Friday and I'm convinced since then me or the little ones are going to get ill 😥
It really is awful xx

Thank you so much @xxxJess123xxx for replying. It's awful isn't it. I can't sleep nearly every night thinking that he will be ill and vomit and since it's become winter it's dominated my thoughts. How did you deal with your little one become sick?

We'll I am emetophobia and worried I wouldn't be able to cope with vomiting children. In the end neither of ours vomited much at all. However when they did some coping mechanism kicked in. Impossible to stand by and watch your child suffer without doing whatever was necessary

Strangely having it happen made me realise it wasn’t all that awful and that you can cope! I still get very anxious when someone tells me their child has had a bug or I read about an outbreak of winter vomiting! 😰 but I know of it happens that I will now just get through it. The idea of it all was much worse!
Be prepared by making sure you have lots of anti bac spray, wipes, hand wash. Have lots of spare bedding incase it happens in the night and also bicarbonate of soda (get rid of smells) and carpet cleaner so you know that if it happens you can deal quickly and move on!
If I think there’s a chance of a sick filled night (if they talk of feeling sick before bed) I also put lots of towels down next to the bed just in case!

Even just her saying her tummy hurts or she doesnt eat alot or is quiet I think the worst straight away. I coped with the one sick bug she had but I'm not sure how. I didnt catch that one but now have a 10 month old baby too and now I have in my head we are doubling our chances of getting it now Sad
I wish I didnt feel this way but see no other way of thinking

I'm the same it's awful. I've just heard a school near me closed due to an outbreak and it's panicking me. I feel like I can't cope and we have all had sickness bugs before so why it suddenly makes me terrified now I don't know...

When it happens you do manage. Was telling myself now dc are older, they're less likely to catch bugs, but lots of schools here have closed, including secondaries. And more have it going round but haven't closed. I'm constantly on edge in case one of mine gets it.
