Hi all
My sister is pregnant with her first child due this March.
Was wanting ideas of what to go buy the baby once he/she comes.
It's the first baby in the family so I really have no idea.
What are the best/most useful gifts you received once your baby was born?

A Tommee Tippee perfect prep machine - this does depend on whether they are intending on bottle feeding/combi feeding but it saved my sanity in the newborn days.
Grosnug sleeping bags were incredibly useful.
Angelcare mesh bath support was also amazing.
If you buy clothes, go up a size or two because they grow out of things quickly and people will tend to buy newborn/first size.
I had a summer baby but for winter babies, I've heard these wraps by Tuppence & Crumble are excellent - tuppenceandcrumble.com/shop/star_wraps
If you want to get toys anything black and white/high contrast is good for newborn eyes. Jellycat do lovely, super soft teddies and soft toys.

A close friend gave me a custom made poster with a beautiful print on it, that showed the positions of the stars at the time above the location (hospital) where DS was born.
I believe in and love astrology so it was a very personal and nice gift!

A 'love to dream swaddle up' I have found really useful this time round. I made my SIL a hamper of baby things that I had liked. Such as nappies, nappy cream I found good, wipes I used, babygros, Teddy, some chocolate and a face mask for her etc.

Or another idead, I have treated myself to a monthly subscription this time called little fawn box it comes every month with some bits for baby and bits for mum. You can do a 3 month present subscription which I'm thinking of doing for my SIL this time.

Those massive muslins, useful for loads of things. Aden and Anais do box sets.
Nice new snuggly dressing gown with big pockets!
Avoid "newborn" size clothes if you can, we got loads.
Coffee/tea/biscuits or even better, decent ready meals like Cook!

A stretchy wrap for carrying newborn. DS is 14 weeks and still using it!
