Will I ever sleep again

Had insomnia throughout pregnancy with DD. She then woke throughout the night every night without fail for over 2yrs, has recently started to sleep through but I’m expecting baby 2 and the relentless insomnia that goes with it. I’m ridiculously tired, and panicking that i literally won’t sleep for another 2 years. Honestly I genuinely haven’t had more than 3-4hrs of broken sleep since I was pregnant with DD.

I’ve aged so much, I have no energy and I have nothing but an exhausted fog in my mind. How do I keep going on so little sleep?

My DCs are two years apart, they are now 4 and 2. My sleep is interrupted 2-3 nights a week - still!

I paid a lot of money to a functional medicine doctor who tested me for every deficiency around, turns out I was low on several vitamins and had a hormonal imbalance. I take a load of supplements and go for B12 injections. This has made a huge difference honestly. I also had the fog, felt lethargic all the time, couldn't shift weight etc. and have seen big improvements since this new regime.

Get a sleep consultant to help you when the new baby is 6-9 months old. Most children are able to sleep for longer than 3-4 hours without waking by this age. It will involve some sleep training. No way should you need to put up with another 2 years or more or no sleep. You need to prioritise yourself and your health.

I'm only saying this because nobody told me with my first. Do you know about recommended awake times? My second is sleeping really well (regressions aside) and I swear it's because she doesnt get overtired. I know Gina Ford is frowned upon here but I bought "contented little baby and toddler" and the routines have been a godsend. I have never left my baby to cry, havent needed to but wouldnt anyway. Really recommend for timings.
