Hello
I'm on a 6 week trial for little lamb nappies new to the whole cloth happy world really want to like them but a week in I'm not so sure, they just seem quite short already on my 4 month old (size 2) and not sure they'd make it to potty training, also they seem quite tight around the legs when I change him he's got quite red indents....I know they need to be tight but there cutting in quite a bit....also they are SO BULKY he looks too heavy bless him and his clothes are quite stretched with them, like I say I really want to love them but for the reasons above I'm not convinced

Anyone else got these issues or use other brands that they love? Thanks in advance

I found little lambs to be short on my son too, found totsbots bamboozles a better fit for night time use.
Are you on Facebook? There’s lots of good cloth nappy advice pages on there :-)

Watching with interest as I bought a few little lambs and they've not worked well for us, leaking after an hour in some cases, fit not great... someone gave me some Mothercare smart nappies that are much better for us but unfortunately are no longer produced, would love to know what is similar to them.

Daytime we use a mix of baba and boo, and cheapy pockets preloved with 1 baba and boo insert and one little lambs double bamboo insert, not too bulky but do need to size up clothes sooner if they aren’t cut for cloth, also vest extenders!

I used little lamb nappies with both my DC, so a few years ago now. No idea if they've changed since we used them, but they worked brilliantly for us. They were a bit bulkier than some other brands but I chose chose clothes a size larger to fit over them if needed. Didn't have any problems with fit or leaks. Both my DC had pretty skinny legs and long torsos if that makes any difference. I used to put a bamboo booster in at night (can't recall what brand) and it worked fine.

I love them and have had some for all 3 of my dc as babies, my 6 month old is a big baby and the size 2s are fine, she had a size 1 on the other day (laundry fail, it’s all I had clean) and that was just about ok. I’ve also used the size 2s on my 4yr old over night and he’s big for his age too. Totsbots bamboozles are similar, maybe worth a try as they fit slightly differently. Also size up on clothes.

Little lambs have worked well for us - much better than the totsbots easy fit ones that I had such high hopes for - but they can be pretty bulky.

Yes I'm on Facebook what's the page please! That'd be a great help 🙌🏻

Cool so mixed then, I just wonder having tight red mark already on his legs surely isn't a great sign unless it's me fitting them on him wrong? And they are so bulky like he looks almost ridiculous bless him but again maybe where I'm used to the throw always it's just getting used to it.

Has anyone tried the mio bambino ones? I as intrigued about them, apparently there good for tall babies I'm thinking my boy must be tall he does seem to have long legs.....I really don't want to give up on cloth and it's great I have this trial but from what I can see mio doesn't offer a trial and there's so many other brands it took me two months to decide on little lamb 🙈🙈🙈 mind field!

We use Bambinex Teddy nappies and they are ace. Similar in style to the little lambs but better for taller kids. They also dry really fast.

We started using them at 4 months (size 2) and DS did look like he had a big bum for a while! But a year on you'd never know, they fit him wonderfully and we have no leaks. Even the childminder loves them.

Have a look at the nappy lady website, she hasoads of videos about fit ect. Cloth nappies fit very different to disposable. Not as high on the waist and you need to get the leg into the crease of the thigh. The general rule with marks is as long as they fade, like sock marks, then it isn't too tight. We have used little lbs on our 22 month old since birth. Size 1 got her to 15 months old, she is a skinny thing. Nappy lady also has a Facebook group and there is also a group cloth nappies UK where you will find loads of advice and everyone is happy to help with any questions etc. Good luck on your cloth journey.

It takes you a little while to get used to the bulkiness of them, but now I love his enhanced booty!

If there's a cloth library near you, that's really the best way to find the nappies that suit you. You could try BTP nappies rather than sized ones, you can adjust the rise as your baby grows (at 6 months old, DS was on the biggest rise, but at 12 months he's on the smallest rise as they lose chub when they start to crawl).

Are you tucking the leg elastic right into the knicker line? And leaving the waist loose enough to fit two fingers under?

We have the Mio Solos, I'm not a huge fan as I prefer poppers, but loads of people rate them. Nappies are such a personal choice!

Size 2 small on your 4 month old? If it’s leaving red marks loosen it off a bit. My large 2.3 year old was wearing size 2 up until he potty trained. My large 11 month old was in size 1 still at 4 months. I think I swapped at 7-8 months.

I love little lamb, absolutely bomb proof and great value for money. I think even if I’d had to buy size 3 it would of been good value, especially as I bought most of ours 2nd hand on eBay. I prefer motherease peppered wraps because both of mine worked out how to remove Velcro little lamb ones.

Clothes, frugi is cut for cloth but otherwise leggings are good mainly from the girls section. Blade and rose and Jojo do great knitted legging that work well. Dungarees don’t generally work. Vest extenders for more length (little lamb make them).

H and m cut their baby clothes for cloth nappies - something about them being designed in Sweden where cloth nappies are common. Their vests fit lovely around little lambs. I use little lambs

Sexnotgender · 09/11/2019 07:45

I use bambino mio with little lamb boosters.

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 09/11/2019 07:45

Sorry posted too soon

..... On my almost two year old for the absorbancy. I love Bambino mio all in ones, I always found then really absorbent and a good fit on my long and skinny boy. this was when he was out weeing cheapy pockets.

AnnaBegins · 09/11/2019 07:55

If leaving red marks, are you sure you're tucking the leg elastics right into the knicker line? If they're on the thighs they'll feel tight when actually they just need tucking in.

Clothes wise, h&m vests are great, or search vest extenders on Amazon or similar - you only need a couple as they don't really get dirty unless you have a nappy leak, and then your vests will fit. Or you could try cut for cloth clothing brands like frugi.

Size 2 little lamb 2 part nappies fit my tall son until 2.5yrs. We also liked bambino miosolos if boosted, or close pop ins.
