9 week old suddenly being sick

Hi all.

My 9, nearly ten week old has never been a sicky baby-just the odd bit of spit up.

However in the last few days she has started being sick more. Not as if she has a bug or anything, but more than before. Now she quite often is sick a bit during or just after a feed, or sometimes a couple of hours after. She has maybe 1 bigger sick a day.

Has anyone else had this after not being sick in the early weeks?

Googled it and suggests that reflux could come on at around this age? Or she could be having too much milk and is just over full (although I am ebf her, dont think I have oversupply, and didnt think you could over feed a bf baby?)

She has been putting on weight well, although havent had her weighed in a few weeks, and nappy output is good. I am going to the childrens centre tomorrow so will get her weighed and speak to the health visitors, but anyone got any theories or advice in the meantime?

Thanks so much

Is it quite phlegmy or just milk? Nappies yellow?

Hi

If its during or just after a feed it's like slightly thick milk. If it's a while after it's quite watery with little bits of what looks like curdled milk in it (if that makes sense)

Yep nappies yellow

My EBF baby didn’t get sick much the first few months, but after that he’s had days where he’s sick a lot, maybe 2-3 days a week on average.
He doesn’t look distressed, and sometimes it could be unfortunate timing with tummy time or too much bouncing in the bouncy chair. Nappy output looks good, so I don’t really do anything about it.
If it worries you definitely follow it up.

Thanks 7worfs

No she doesnt seem distressed either. Isn't making any strange sounds-its just coming up. I have an older DD and looks like it's just normal baby bringing stuff up, but the only strange thing is that she has only just started doing it.

Doesn’t sound like anything sinister to me but worth getting the health visitor to give you some advice. Our DD was a pain for getting wind up and it often ended up with her sicking it up instead!

Hi
So got baby weighed and she has dipped ever so slightly, but nothing out of the ordinary. HV didnt seem concerned, but said to monitor the bringing up of milk and come back in 2 weeks to get weighed again.

Me and baby have also been diagnosed with thrush in the last week. HV said this could possibly be linked to the bringing up of more milk than usual. I googled it but could only find 1 website that suggested vomiting could he linked to thrush as it can mess with their digestive system a bit.

Anyone else had any experience of oral thrush making babies bring up more milk than usual?
