duvets for toddlers - what tog?

About to move DS1 (2.4) in to a bed. What tog duvet should I go for? I'm so used to him being in his 2.5 tog grobag on cold nights I worry he will totally overheat with a 10 tog duvet. Does anyone bother to buy 2 different weights of duvet for their LO - i.e 4 tog for summer and 10 tog for winter?

Why not keep him in his grobag, or use a cot quilt?

at that age the most he'll probably want in the summer is an empty duvet cover and in the winter about a 4tog. Apparently it's because they are still breathing fairly rapidly at that age, any higher than 4 (unless you live in the Highlands and sleep with all the windows open) and he'll get too hot.
This was the information i got from a guy at John Lewis and you can read it on their website if you search for duvets.

Ah that's better advice than mine (can u tell my ds is still in a cot so i haven't got a clue )

he is very reluctant to get out of his grobag in the morning and after his nap which can be very annoying when we have to go somewhere and I have a 4 month old to get ready too. When he has slept under a duvet he jumps out of bed no problem. So I'm kind of looking forward to a bit of duvet action from him!

4.5 tog - that was what I was thinking. I should trust my instinct more!
Thanks for the speedy replies.
