Chicken pox - how do we know?

Feel really silly posting this as it should be glaringly obviously. There’s a chance dd has chicken pox but I’m really not sure if it is or not.

She woke up with cold like symptoms yesterday and was clingy and grumpy. Then after the bath I noticed a small scattering of spots on her chest and a couple on her face. Fully expected her to wake up this morning covered but she isn’t in fact there were about the same amount as last night. Since then more have been popping up (looks like a blotchy rash at first then turns into a spot then gets smaller and smaller until it’s a teeny spot). However there’s still really not many she’s got a few on her arms a couple on legs and face/chest but they’re barely visible.

She’s very itchy but not temp and is still eating lots. We’re supposed to be going to see fireworks soon but obviously I won’t take her if she has chicken pox. Anyone got any knowledge on how to tell? Could it be anything else?

Google image search the chicken pox rash and see if it's the same?

Hand foot and mouth can be mistaken for chicken pox.

My twins had it in June and it didn’t follow the usual path (they had no fever in advance, no illness at first, very few blisters for the first four days and no itching, and then they exploded, were everywhere, temps of 40+, etc).

They did literally start out looking like blisters - no redness etc. The ones that came later were red dots before they were blisters. They both got infections and doctors said it was definitely chicken pox, and they started exactly two weeks apart.

It’s so hard to say as it seems not all kids present the same way. I’d honestly play it safe.

I'd play it safe and not go either. DS apparently had chicken pox, but he hardly had any spots. I wonder about getting him vaccinated to ensure that he's fully immune.

Yep googled it but it looked similar to some images and not others and there was quite a variety.

We didn’t go to be on the safe side. So frustrating not knowing what it is though.

Hope things are clearer today - we weren’t sure if it was CP at first either, sadly it became very apparent after a few days. Hopefully it’s just a mild case of whatever it is and she doesn’t suffer too much.
