Double pushchair suitable for newborn and toddler

Hi,
Please could I ask if anyone could recommend a double pushchair that caters for both a newborn and a toddler, and can then be easily converted into a double pushchair for when baby is old enough to sit upright?
Ideally not too expensive and able to fit into a regular size car boot!
Thankyou!

Mountain Buggy Duet. I recommend it once a week when this thread comes up!

Fits on all buses and through single doors even though it's a side by side.

Not sure what boots it would fit into though. It won't go in my Piccanto but that's tiny

Most Phil and teds can be used with a newborn cocoon. Second seat can be removed when toddler eventually has to walk!

Out and about nipper double. Very easily manoeuvrable. About £300 and fits through normal doors.
Fits in the boot of my cmax .

I had the mountain buggy duet too but I found that the carrycot was very narrow and DS2, who admittedly was a large baby (9lbs9oz at birth), grew out of the carrycot at 10 weeks. It was a complete pain as I had researched double buggies to within an inch of their lives but I hadn’t reckoned on this happening- the carrycot is meant to be ok until 4 months.

There’s a parent-facing attachment thing which turned out to be very flimsy and not suitable until 6 months, so at the tender age of 10 weeks DS2 ended up world-facing in a foot muff with the seat fully reclined, which made me a bit sad as he was so tiny (in age 😂)

I had a City Jogger double and loved it. The way it folds down sold it for me. We didn’t have a lot of room to store it and the half fold meant it could be kept easily in the car etc

Yes, the carrycot is quite narrow. We were lucky and DC2 was in it happily till 5 months.

Out n About seconded. Some great secondhand pushchairs around!

I've had a BJ city mini double and an out n about V4 Double, both great but I definitely preferred the city mini for how easily it folded and how compact it was when folded amongst other things.

Roma Gemini double.
It's £249 plus an extra £100 for the carrycot

Do you want a side by side or in line double? Which you want really depends on how you are going to use it, it's worth going to a shop and trying a few of each type out. I found the side by side ones much easier to push,.but as they are wider they are more of a pain in narrow spaces. What's your age gap going to be - if they are close in age you'll keep using the double for longer so you'll want something with bigger seats so it lasts longer.

We have the BJ City mini double. It's side by side so great for long days out up, and we used it up until the older DC was 4 for that purpose, but definitely not suitable for narrow streets and small shops. As a pp has said, it's definitely worth buying 2nd hand, people don't normally use them for that long so they can be in excellent condition.

Baby Jogger City Mini. We got ours from eBay and it's been great.

Another vote for the double nipper - absolutely love mine

We've got a second hand Phil & Teds (a dot i think) and it's been good so far. The newborn loves the cocoon and sleeps better in there than anywhere else. I'm not sure how well it will work once the baby is too big for the cot as she'll have to go on the 'lower deck' and won't have much of a view... but I guess she won't know any better! It's bulky compared to my single stroller, but fits into the back of our seat Leon easily.

I've been looking for one recently as well. I've seen the Joie Evalite Duo which looks quite compact and goes from newborn to toddler for the back seat. It's only around £200 but seems to have good reviews.
