I used cloth nappies on my dd for 6 months but really didnt get on with them. I tried fuzzi bunz and bambino mios.I found the cost too much in the end to try any more, so gave up and put her in disposables.
I now have an 8 month old son who has been in disposables since birth, but now i really would like to try cloth nappies again.
Can anyone suggest a nappy to suit? My little boy is approx 16lb, a reasonably heavy wetter, but rarely leaks.I want something reasonably slim fitting so i can still put him in his normal clothes.I will line dry where possible, but have a tuble drier for winter and emergencies.
Any help would be appreciated, many thanks x

The trouble is, there are so many nappies out there! Of the ones I have tried, I would suggest maybe Bambinex bamboo would suit, they are slim and very absorbent but take a long while to dry. There is also a microfibre version, the Bambinex teddy, which is similar but dries much faster so maybe worth having a few for emergencies. I have also just got a Little Kiwi Quick Flip, which looks promising. It has a fast drying cotton outer and a bamboo booster so gives the best of both worlds. These all need wraps, Motherease wraps are usually recommended as the most reliable.

yes I would go for a bamboo nappy of you want slim fitting, just but one or two to try first and see how you get on. The Bambinex Bamboo or Tots Bots Bamboozle are pretty slim, the Baby BeeHinds bamboo is a great birth to potty nappy and shouldn't be too bulky now your DS is 8 months. All these nappies will need a wrap. Although they take a while to ry they really are the slimmest nappy so you may have to make a choice between slim fitting and quick drying (if you are line drying) as most of the quick drying microfibre nappies are quite bulky. The Quick Flip is another option, as is trying a pocket again. D you have any Fuzzis left? Which insert did you use wit it, the Fuzzis one is hopeless for heavy wetters.

Hiya, i second curly about the fuziz insert - i use ellas house hemp in mine or a GAD microfibre which is a bit fatter and mine copes ok in it - pockets can be great with a good insert. I have oodles of pockets on my website but your probs best seeing if you can get any of the nappy lady initailly to try if not so sure. Goodluck and feel free to e mail - im available through the classified small business ads.

I use cloth nappies for dd2 (3months) and ds (30months, altho now potty training - another story. . .) I;ve tried loads but found cotton bottoms and other prefolds not absorbant enough and the wraps tend to get wet so need changing frequently. All in ones such as kushies tend to leak poo. I now use motherease - a bit bulky but really good and the wraps last all day. A good website is kittykins.co.uk which has loads of nappies and offers free delivery.
