Hi. Crowd sourcing some ideas for how to play with/ entertain my four month old baby. Starting to struggle to pass the hours. Thanks in advance!

A Jumperoo? Leaves to crunch, a “treasure basket” to explore, lots of walks outside.

At four months old my ds liked tinsel wrapped around his baby gym. Out of reach obviously.
We went for long walks in the fresh air. I read to him a lot, doesn't matter what they just like listening to your voice.

Make the most of it though really, at this age they're pretty portable so get out and about while you can.

Playmat time. Long walks. Jumperoo. Baby TV Grin

My DD mostly screamed the place down at 4 months unfortunately but in the rare moments of happiness: walks in the pram around local area especially around local parks (mostly to make them nap...), cartoons on telly in the bouncy chair, baby sensory videos on YouTube, baby group at the children's centre once a week, Water Babies once a week, visiting relatives and friends or having them visit us...not much else really

I used to talk and sing to DD as I hung out the laundry on the airer - sometimes literally a running commentary of what I was doing. Sounds a bit daft now!

DS used to like sitting in his bouncy chair watching me do housework!? I took him swimming from 3 months - great for tiring him out but a bit of a hassle. (Even better - find a gym with a crèche and leave the baby while you go for a swim!) Music class was popular from an early age. Also meeting other mums so that you can have a coffee and chat while keeping an eye on the babies.

I used to do a group every morning then it was just the afternoon that needed entertainment! Survival wrap is amazing (can get cheap on amazon) and those thin coloured scarves for peek a boo and general play.

Mine loved the play gym, jumperoo, singing, looking out at the windows in different rooms, staring at the goldfish!

Also just exploring everyday items with interesting textures and some messy/sensory play like custard or rice pudding in a tray or bowl.
