Reassurance needed please.

My 16 month old has always been a ganet and eaten really well. However for the last 2 weeks his eating's taken a bit of a downward turn.

He will eat breakfast no issues, hit and miss with lunch and is generally refusing dinner. Dh and I reasoned that maybe his snacks were a bit much so have swapped to just a piece of fruit.

After a week of not really eating dinner, Yesterday wasnt bad, he had porridge with apple, chicken pasta for lunch and a slice of cheese on toast.

Today he had banana porridge, the rest of the banana for a snack, he didnt eat his scrambled egg on toast but picked at a few pieces of ham then had a satsuma. He had about 8 grapes for a snack and has refused tea (though did manage a yoghurt lolly, surprise surpriseWink). He has one bottle of milk a day, before bedtime and sleeps through. He only has water to drink in the day. He will eat at nursery generally at least half his meals and we are trying to mimicking their routine ie: a proper hot meal at lunch and a smaller tea.

I'm not going to get in the habit of making another meal as I know reasonably he wont starve. Hes a big boy (98th centile for weight and tall) so he has reserves!

Hes been unwell this week with a cold and temp and teethy so aware this might be impacting on him. Also I know it's likely one of many toddler phases! Planning to offer what I would normally including fruit for dessert but not any extra and waiting it out, is this the best plan? How long did yours take to eat again?

He also has vitamin drops at night so not too worried from that perspective.
