What Halloween books do you recommend for kids starting to read?

I'm on the hunt for Halloween-themed (not necessarily about Halloween but spooky/funny stories) children's books to encourage my 6-year-old son to read leading up to Halloween. He's getting better at reading and liking it more so I thought he would love some ghoulish reads.

We as a family love Halloween (we're not American, we just like spooky fun and part of it is about showing children not to be scared of monsters, mimick them and poke fun at them). So any ideas about monstrous/witchy/ books for children, I will also be reading them to my 3-and-a-half-year old daughter. So far, from last year we have The Witch's Kitchen (my youngest loves it), The Foggy Foggy Forest (not really scary but good fun) and Ten Timid Ghosts (also great)... I'm struggling to find similar books this year. Someone recommended the Winnie & Wilbur saga but that's way too advanced reading for a Year 1 boy. I've heard about Funnybones, is it suitable for my son's age group? Do you know of any other similar books your children love?
