Does anyone else want to join?

I worry about mine constantly... even when she's driving me mental.

know what you mean count me in

TraceyP · 24/09/2004 08:05

Yes please, me too!

zebra · 24/09/2004 08:27

We could have a "featured problem child of the week" -- where we get to describe our child in detail and get loads of discussion and feedback.

Wish I didn't mean this seriously... !!
Off to do school run.

Count me in.

Just come back from holiday with ds1 (3), ds2 (4 months) and friends who also have a 3 year old. The whole week seems to have been one of crisis management.

Was sorely tempted to bundle all the kids on the plane then stay in Spain...

My 3 year old is going to be 4 in a couple of weeks time! Can I still join?

TraceyP · 24/09/2004 08:55

Today I am hoping that my 3yo:-

Doesn't run away from me in the shops
Doesn't throw up all over the sofa. Twice.
Doesn't have two dozen screaming fits.
Doesn't pick up any more conkers for the nature table (it's already groaning under the weight of the conkers and they're all hers)!
Doesn't say I DON'T WANT TO! more than twenty times.
Doesn't need three changes of clothes because she's a muck magnet.
Doesn't call the guy over the road with the noisy car and thumping beat box "moron"
Doesn't lock me in the garage and think it's funny not to open the door again.

Does stop talking for more than ten seconds at at time.
Does stop whining Muuuuuuuummmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeee.
Does do as she's told at least once.

Can you tell yesterday was not a good day ...

peachypie · 24/09/2004 08:59

ohh yes count me in, is it just mine or are your 3yr olds worse than when they were terrible two?

TraceyP · 24/09/2004 09:00

Hi again Peachypie, you ok today? I definitely find dd is far worse now she's three than she was at two. I felt so smug that we'd got away with no terrible twos - and now she's a frightful three

Kayleigh · 24/09/2004 09:01

Today I would like my 3 year old not to :-
-whinge/cry every time something doesn't go right
-whinge/cry every time his brother says something he doesn't like
-whinge/cry every time I ask him to do something
-keep trying to talk to me while I'm on mumsnet

GeorginaA · 24/09/2004 09:13

Terrible twos were a breeze in our house. Perhaps that's why I've been afflicted with a severe case of threenagerdom.

peachypie · 24/09/2004 09:32

hi traceyp - thanks for asking im so-so today, how are you?

i thought i had got away with terrible twos also but now at 3 he is mental torture they just wear you down until you give in sometimes dont they, and have a real problem with not understanding eg: "wait a min just while i feed your sister" NO NOW MAMA! ahhhh so sweet

Titania · 24/09/2004 09:34

can i join in please? dd is 3 on monday? does that count?

peachypie · 24/09/2004 09:36

titania come on in.
what age do you think the relentless whingy-half cry stops?

TraceyP · 24/09/2004 09:36

PP - bit better today ta (gin and tablets definitely not an option today). Titania, of course it counts! You can expect the frightful threenage any day now ...

Titania · 24/09/2004 09:37

My dd was a sweetheart until she was -ohh - three and two days. She's sitting on the floor at the moment stamping her heels, whining and doing that pretend cry, banging her head on the wall - and all because she wants to go to a different post office to the one I said we were going out to ...

TraceyP · 24/09/2004 09:41

Which book Issymum? Is it working?

Titania · 24/09/2004 09:45

my dd is sat watching tweenies ATM.....being a liitle star. She is pretty quiet....til ds1 gets home from school then all hell breaks loose....he winds her up a lot which doesnt help. She is a finicky eater. She goes to bed at 7 (most of the time reluctantly) and gets up at 5.30-6am. She is into my little pony and HATES it when ds winds her up moving them around from where she has put them in the first place. She adores her little brother (7 months) but keeps asking 'mummy when are you going to get me a little sister to play ponies with??.....those boys will just play football all the time without me'....poor love!!! Would happily oblige if we had an extra bedroom!! Am SOOOOO broody now!!

Titania · 24/09/2004 09:47

how many other children has everyone got? I have got 3 in total.....1 dd and 2 ds's....ds1 is nearly 5, dd is nearly 3 and ds2 is 7 months

peachypie · 24/09/2004 09:47

traceyp good to here you not heading for the bottle and tabs.
that sounds sooooo familair about your little dd.
you say black they say white.

i would be interested in that booktoo.
ds is a really polite sweet little boy 90% of the time.

TraceyP · 24/09/2004 09:49

DD is my only one - couldn't cope with any more!!!

Titania · 24/09/2004 09:49

i said that after my first traceyp!! lol.....

peachypie · 24/09/2004 09:50

my ds is 3.3 and also have dd who is 5 months.

he is really good with her most of the time apart from some over zealous kisseing and cuddling.
