Hi all, looking for some advice as my daughter has started waking LOTS during the night and I don’t know if it’s because she’s hungry:/

Her routine is; cows milk when she wakes up at 7 ish (4oz), breakfast at 8:30, snack at 10, lunch at 12, milk before nap at 1pm 6oz (tried moving it to when she wakes up but she screams and won’t sleep), tea at 4, bedtime milk at 6pm.

While she was on formula she was still waking up during the night (11pm and 3am) for milk (6oz) but seemed to be getting better and sometimes only waking up once. But since being on cows milk she can wake up to 4 times in the night wanting milk (drinking 6oz every time). Any advice would be great as now I’m back at work and I'm exhausted because I’m getting barely any sleep:(

I don’t think it has to do with the cow’s milk (if anything it tends to be fattier than a lot of formula). Unfortunately, it’s normal for sleep to be disrupted around this time. If you didn’t get it really badly from 7-11 months, then it’s probably coming now. They also get a lot of teeth around this age, so that could be part of it too.

The only thing I would say is that you may want to offer more solid food especially late in the day. Mine always had a snack around 4 and then a hot dinner closer to 6. If her last solid food of the day is at 4, that could be why she is so hungry during the night, especially if she’s becoming a lot more mobile.

My DD started dropping night feeds when I introduced a mid afternoon and mid morning snacks. I would drop the bottle of milk during the day and replace with milk in a cup.

Thank you for your replies, I originally tried giving her dinner later but she would almost never eat it because she was just so sleepy by 6:/ and because she has a long afternoon nap ( 2 hours ish maybe longer some days) when she wakes up it’s close to tea time, I give her snack bits on her tray to eat/play with while I’m plating up her dinner? As for dropping/changing the bottle of milk to a cup of milk I will definitely try that!

I have the same issue, ds wakes and drinks four bottles a night since I changed two weeks ago.
So back to formula I go.

Can you give her a snack on waking to keep her going until a later dinner at 5ish, and then bottle of milk at 6 30pm?

I would suggest an evening meal. Mine are with us at 6.30 ish in addition to what you are feeding.
