Looking for a puberty book for 9 year old boy

Hi,
Are there any books out there that don't go into tmi about sex? My DS9 is starting to be a bit hormonal and I bought him the Usborne one 'what's happening to me'. However, I think it is a little on the old side for him. Has anyone got any others they could recommend?

I was going to recommend the "What's happening to me" book, so a bit stumped now! I didn't think the sex bit was too much for a 9 year old (they probably think they know all about it already from playground gossip). Plus they will cover it at school soon as well.

You could always read it with him (which I'd recommend anyway) and censor the sections you weren't happy about?

Why would you not tell him about sex whilst telling him about puberty? You don't have to go into massive detail, but at 9, it's probably time he knew the basics (if he doesn't already). As RedskyLastNight points out, school and school playground will be providing plenty of info very soon (if not already) makes sense to make sure he has access to the facts.

I’d say the book is good is it something you are comfortable to talk to him about sex and puberty ?

I'm putting in another vote for Usborne What's Happening to Me? My DD is 8 and we've been through it a couple of times together over the past year or so (the girl one, obviously).

However, I explained to her that it's 'my' book, so we just read a page or two at a time at first, and I gave her plenty of time for questions, and only moved on when I felt the time was right. That way I was in control of what she learned, and when. I also didn't want her going back over certain bits repeatedly at her age, and also didn't want her showing it to her friends - it's up to their parent/school as to when each child learns.

If you're uncomfortable about any particular parts, perhaps you don't need to read through it all at this stage, but just read through the first few pages with your DS - IIRC the hormone bits are covered early in the book.
