Are Dr brown bottles good for relux?

Me again, but just wanted to ask as went to health visitors today as my little girl is very grunty during the night and day and also through some feeds she screams and arches her back. She is very hard to burp after a feed aswell, but she's not really a sicky baby. My health visitor said it sounds like relux and to try the Dr drown bottles as they are anti colic..... But it's made me come away confused as she said it sounds like she has relux but then said try the anti colic bottles? I thought relux and colic are complelty different to each other. Xx

I've seen dr browns well recommended for reflux. We used NUK ourselves :)

I've read most of the internet (joking, sort of.. ) on reflux, and im still not sure what colic is. Seems to be what people said about babies like mine before reflux and allergies were diagnosed. Although some babies scream randomly for hours in the evening from colic, so still not sure!

The anti colic valves (lots of brands have these) just release air nicely so baby takes in less air and (hopefully) gets less trapped wind as a result.

My LO was very hard to wind until about 4 months. Not sure what happened, he's just gradually improved. We tried all the tricks in the book...

TK maxx usually have dr browns bottles in very cheaply! We switched to these after suspected colic and haven’t looked back, really happy with them

Dr Browns bottles worked for my son and really reduced his wind and colic. Expensive and fiddly to clean but we found them worth the effort.

Colic is unexplained crying. Reflux is when milk and acid is vomited up in large amounts due to the stomach closure not being fully developed yet. Reflux can happen with or without pain. You can also get silent reflux where acid and milk comes up the throat but the baby is not sick but does suffer discomfort. There are various things you can do to help with reflux; holding upright for 30 mins after food, elevating the cot head and medications if needed.

Anti colic bottles reduces the amount of air bottle feed babies swallow so reduce the amount of wind they get. MAM bottles are good anti colic bottles.

They are better than cheaper bottles but didn't solve my baby's reflux. Gaviscon infant helped and you can get on NHS.
You have to be careful if you use a bottle warmer as the valve helps milk escape.
