What to do with toddler

Was going to take my 18 month old to a baby group today but it's hammering down with rain and I can't get there by car as I don't drive.
Any ideas what to do with a baby his age on a rainy day like this?

Do you have a puddle suit? Lidl had some great waterproof dungaree things the other day, those are good for splashing about near home. Then back in for a warm bath, hot chocolate and a bit of TV/music/playing.

I second that. Puddle jumping is a favourite activity. He loves it. Then home and nice warm bath

To be honest I’d just dress for the rain and go anyway. I’ve just done the school run in the hammering rain with a 5, 4 and 8 month old and we just wore raincoats and took umbrellas. Kids aren’t generally too bothered by rain.

@BertieBotts @Moominfan
He hasn't got one but I'm guessing trainers and a coat will do? It's funny actually because we went food shopping the other day and I saw one in Morrisons it was super cute, I should of go it! Maybe next time! Thanks for he suggestions I will give them a try!
And @SoyDora I would but I have really bad asthma and the cold really sets it off I don't want to get there and end up having an asthma attack after marching through the rain for 20 mins lol

He'll probably get wet feet/trousers but you can chuck them in the wash and him in the bath :)

for future, winter months: indoor soft play, swimming, browse the shopping centre, a baby group/messy play

Harrysmummy246 · 24/09/2019 12:17

We have to go out to walk the dogs anyway so we just get wet (and we enjoy a warm drink when we get home)

Moominfan · 24/09/2019 13:14

Hope you had fun op! Wetsuits are worth every penny and super cute :) mine loves being out in all weathers. Tires him out and gets a lovely warm bath once we're home.

Hi all,
Was planning to take our 18 month old out tomorrow but it's meant to be raining all day. We was thinking soft play but thought it's going to rammed because it's raining and it's a weekend. Normally when we go when it's packed he normally gets trod on by older kids or he can't explore because older kids are running about. Any ideas? 🤷‍♀️

Moominfan · 28/09/2019 21:03

There's a few soft plays near me. I find if I go at opening time it's quiet, usually late morning afternoon they get busy.
