My little boy is 3 months old and currently sleeps in his Moses basket, I don’t think he’s got long left until he grows out of it. I was wondering what people did in the inbetween stage? I’ve looked at things like the chicco next to me but I don’t want to invest and then him grow out of that in 2/3 months time. I’ve also been looking at the mamas and papas small wooden crib which can last up until a year old. What’s your opinions, I don’t want to put him in his own room and he’s currently not sleeping through - tends to wake up once or twice depending on what time he goes to sleep.

I think a cot that can transition to one you use in his room is ideal (one where the side moves off/on or up/down). Or adjust your own bed so you have space for baby.

Realistically, lots of children end up sleeping in a family bed past the baby stage. Actually the stage from 6 months to over a year is often more difficult for sleep, especially if you’re going back to work.

With both of mine, I used a full sized cot (with side removed) next to the bed for the first few months and then we transitioned to a family bed. My eldest slept with us to 3.5 and youngest is 19 months. We have a double and single pushed together.

We put dd in her cotbed in our room, but it was about 4 months she went into her own room.

It worked as the cotbed was in our roo. From day 1 and her moses basket was just in the cot on the mattress
