can someone please prove my MIL wrong in relation to the above. She states I must wash their clothes seperatley to mine and DH's clothes. Why can't i just bung them all in the washing machine together? Obviously seperating cotton, synthetics etc

I wash everything together.

SoupDragon · 22/09/2004 20:29

Bung them all intogether. I use a non-bio powder for everything. That's the only reason I can think of to seperate them - if you're using bio for your stuff and non-bio for baby things.

gingernut · 22/09/2004 20:29

Oh dear, I have been doing it wrong for nearly 3 years if that's the case! Does she explain why she thinks this? I just use the same non-bio powder for all our washing, would only need to separate if couldn't find one that we could all tolerate.

Don't separate mine - use non-bio for all.

I wash dd's clothes separately I'm afraid. Something my mum told me and I've stuck to it. Mum says that we were quite old when she started washing our clothes with hers and dad's. Have got a separate washbasket and everything- sad or what

linnet · 22/09/2004 21:52

I wash all clothes together, seperating, whites colours etc. And I use Bio washing powder always have done.

Hulababy · 22/09/2004 21:54

I have always washed our washing together. Normally use non-bio.

Clayhead · 22/09/2004 21:55

Always wash together with non bio, why make more work?

Tommy · 22/09/2004 21:56

I'm with Pixiefish - but sometimes do it all together if we don't have enough for a whole load (ha ha ha) and do it on non-bio. DH doesn't really like smelling of DS's washing powder though (I LOVE it! )

coppertop · 22/09/2004 21:57

All of our clothes are washed together with non-bio (after sorting!).

Slinky · 22/09/2004 21:59

I chuck everyone's clothes in together and wash with a Non-Bio - always have done since DD1 was born.

I just about keep on top of the washing as it is without having to separate kids/adults stuff.

clairabelle · 22/09/2004 22:03

I use bio for all of my washes doesn't seem to make any difference to mine. I do have very strict rules about sorting though we have a pink and purple wash, blue and black wash, whites wash and then a light coloured non white wash & not forgetting delicates and woollens How sad is that?

PicadillyCircus · 22/09/2004 22:05

I do everyone's in non-bio. I love the smell of Fairy non-bio washed clothes

clairabelle · 22/09/2004 22:06

Are you following me

poppyseed · 22/09/2004 22:07

I do the same clairabelle!! We can be sad together...

PicadillyCircus · 22/09/2004 22:07

It looks like it Not deliberately though

Demented · 22/09/2004 22:15

I wash everyone's clothes together and started to use bio powder when DS1 was 12 months, then with DS2 only waited until he was 6 months, found non-bio was struggling with the stains.
