Reasons I'm jealous of my kid

Lighthearted!

My almost three-year-old has only recently moved into a "proper" bed and is now using a quilt instead of a sleep sack.

Really jealous of her tonight, wondering why no-one tucks me in with a warm glass of milk and a story when it's MY bedtime Grin And why I can't find dinosaur pyjamas in adult size Blush

What are the reasons you're jealous of your DC?

Afternoon naps!

Also wish I had someone to cook my tea and bring me snacks on demand.

They don't know how good they've got it!

My ds is all cozy in his pram and doesn't have to walk anywhere in the rain. Not fair at all.
My dd has glossy, healthy, poker straight hair - mine is frizzy, dry and wild. also completely unfair.

MummyStruggles · 09/09/2019 13:31

That's so funny @ceebeejeebies, my DD has naturally stunning, red, curly, big hair and I'm SO jealous of her as mine is straight and limp!

Naps, being chauffeur driven about, all meals prepped and cut up for them, clear skin and no wrinkles!

Yogurtcoveredricecake · 09/09/2019 13:35

2 hours nap in the middle of the day.
Stays in nice warm dry pram while I'm soaked to the skin
You can run round screaming and it's fine
You can go on swings and slides
You can do play cleaning and pretend cooking whereas adults have to do real cleaning and cooking

coragreta · 09/09/2019 13:44

You can have a tantrum when you're tired and hungry and end up with a cuddle

Limpshade · 09/09/2019 13:50

Naps! Yes!

Also that it's (kind of) socially acceptable for the baby to yell when she's bored.

Imagine getting cornered by someone at a party who chews your ear off about share prices and so you just yell vowels at them until someone you know better comes and takes you away Grin

They don't have to get up until after 6.25, someone else organises everything they need to take with them the night before, gives them their clothes in the morning, gives them reminders of every single stage of the morning routine, makes their breakfast, either tells them when to leave or walks with them...

Smotheroffive · 09/09/2019 13:55

Definitely the cosied up snug in the comfy pram whilst everyone else rushes by huddled against the cold and rain.

The naps! though I join in quite often

All the cuddles and being read to!

Diagonalli · 09/09/2019 14:05

@PhilomenaButterfly - your talking about my DH rather than a child

Marlena1 · 09/09/2019 14:09

Soft play! There were hardly any staff this morning so I climbed up to the top and went down the high slide...three times. Loved every second.

They have belief in things like magic.
Washing up is FUN

Cindy55 · 09/09/2019 14:20

Naps, their energy, their consumption of spag Bol without it going to their hips, their cute little pjs and their inability to feel the cold. They would happily prance naked in the winter if I didn’t force layers on them.

Oh their happiness over the tiniest things, and their innocence.

That is such a lovely post cindy

blibblibs · 09/09/2019 16:41

Definitely the fact that DD10 already has longer legs than me Shock
