Travel Cots for Toddlers

Can anyone recommend a travel cot for toddlers? The cot doesn’t need to travel, it’s for visitors coming to see us so I don’t want to spend a fortune but need to have something safe. Thanks.

Hi Op I use red kite travel cot you will need to buy a mattress for it as the one that comes with it is rather hard it's fairly big and not too expensive as far as travel cots go ASDA is your best bets as when they have offers on it's cheap I think we gave £20 for it and then another £20 for mattress.

Check the size to see if it's suitable for your toddler as it does depend on how tall your toddler is as to whether they may fit or be cramped.

I think it was red kite sleepy something in black

Thanks @2beautifulbabs the RedKite one is too small though. I need one for bigger toddlers I think. What would you use when yours outgrow the one you have?

Is there a spare bed or could your toddler squeeze in with you? We have a bed rail guard that we use for our toddler on occasions to stop them falling out of the bed

It’s to keep at our house for use by visitors that have children. Some of the toddlers aren’t used to beds/ co-sleeping so their parents want them in a travel cot (fair enough). I could just ask the parents to hire one but that doesn’t seem like good hosting and if we have one it will probably get used over the years...

We have one with wheels from Mothercare which I think will suit our little one until she's about 3. It cost around £35 I think and was one up from the basic one they do. It's really kind of you to think about this, I'd never expect my host to have one though, I'd expect to take my own with me.

Thanks @HappyDinosaur I’ll check that one out. I was also looking at the Bushbaby nest egg. www.madeformums.com/reviews/bushbaby-nestegg-pop-up-travel-cot-review/?image=2&type=gallery&gallery=1
As a non-parent I feel a bit out of my depth though tbh Grin

I agree maybe just politely ask them if they have their own travel cot they wish to use and go from there but agree it's very kind of you to offer buying one for them to use
