Baby things you can never have enough of?

A friend asked a couple of weeks ago what we hadn't got yet so offered to buy us a changing mat. Have since bought two so need something else to suggest.

We have lots of vests and bodysuits now, and everything on the NHS 'what you'll need for baby' list.

Are there any items that we just can't have enough of, for around £5 - £10?

Snufflebabe for the inevitable stuffy nose/snotty bugs
Sudocrem!

These go over the mat similarly to a fitted sheet. So they stay in place, even with a very wriggly baby (this becomes more relevant after they are a few months old). They wash very well and dry quickly.

muslins
top tip- use a muslin across the bit of the cot where the baby's head is, if baby dribbles/is sick simply replace the muslin rather than the sheet

I'll go against the grain with muslins we got bought a fair few packets and have only opened a few my DD isn't a particularly sicky or dribbley baby so we just never really needed more than a handful that get washed and reused. We've only just started using bibs now she's weaning.
I'd say a baby medicine box with things like dentinox, baby Calpol, gripe water, snuffle baby etc in stuff like this I never thought to buy when pregnant but my friend did me a toiletries gift box with things like this in when colic kicked in or she had her jabs it was fantastic to have these kind of things in and at hand.

I still use the muslins when I steam a pudding. Both mine had cast iron stomachs.

Potties: upstairs, downstairs, garden, car.
Bottle teats. Cloth bibs that can be boiled. Handcream, calpol.

I'd have said baby wipes- I still use them now and my children are 10 and 7.

Also muslins- useful for lots of things. DD uses them with her dolls now.

But I agree with whoever said insulated mug.... That would have been a real godsend and I wish I'd had one when mine were babies!
