Cheeky wipes users

Hello
Would anyone help me pls? I am looking to swap to reusable wipes and there is just so many to choose from..I am looking at the cheeky wipes but want to ask those who use these or cloth wipes in general - do you have separate wipes for bum and face&hands? How are you storing your wipes before and after use? Is it worth to pay for the boxes and pouches they sell?
Thank you

We use cheeky wipes! I have the cheeky wipes green lid box and I pre soak with just plain water. You can get a dirty box too, but I use cloth nappies, so I just chuck the used wipes in the wet bag with the nappies. I use the organic cotton wipes for bottoms as well as hands/ face but you can get lovely soft microfibre ones for faces too 😊

I don't think you need the boxes/pouch. I do use different wipes for bum and hands/face. Mine are different colours, but I generally wash them together (after rinsing the bum ones in warm water so there are no 'solids' left anyway). I wash them both in my normal wash. When I used cloth nappies, I used to wash the bum ones with the nappies, but we aren't using cloth now that mine are older. I store them dry and wet with warm water before use. I put the dirty ones in the box for washing, but you could use any old storage container. There is nothing special about the actual cheeky wipes box.

I got the kit with the boxes and cake with 10 free minky hand and face cloths (softer). Nappy wipes kept separate and then minky cloths I keep dry in drawer and wet as needed- out and about I use wet/dry bag for those and nappy wipes in separate bag. Currently using original wipes on baby 2 and they look barely worn, I love them. About to get make up remover wipes for myself actually!

Cake? There was no cake, sadly

Thank you! What do you do when you going out? Do you take it dry and wet the wipe just before use or you take it already wet in some sort of bag with you? And is there any need for those essential oils they sell?

Oils nice but not essential-you can obvs buy other places. I do use them because I like the smell. It depends where I’m going but usually take dry as I tend to have a water bottle with me for the kids so can just use that. The wet/dry bags are good though and I actually second it as a kids toiletry bag when we travel so nothing can leak on the suitcase!

I think I saw on fb today they have an offer of free wet/dry bag if you spend £x

Thank you yes I'm looking at it now..will probably order pack of white terry ones for nappy change and pack of the rainbow ones for hands and face..
Thanks everyone for great advise Smile

I just made my own wipes out of towelling with serged egdes, and use old Roses choc boxes for clean and dirty. I wet about 12 at a time using warm water with just a bit of the bubble bath we use, and half fill the dirty pot with water to stop the dirty wipes smelling.

I don’t use them out and about (don’t like the idea of carrying dirty wipes with me).

Currently I wash them by themselves.

When I start weaning I think we will get some different coloured ones to use for hands and faces and I’ll put those in the wash with out clothes.

Brexitstash · 02/09/2019 16:56

The white ones for bum and softer coloured ones for face and hands. All still going strong at nearly 4 (though she's toilet trained now, so not used as much). I wet then before use, warm water so less if a shock in winter.

Celebelly · 02/09/2019 16:58

I take pre-soaked ones out in a wet bag as avoids faff. Then dirty ones just go in separate wet bag along with nappies, and just bunged in washing machine.

You won't regret doing cloth wipes - they are so far superior to disposables for cleaning poo in particular. You would need about four or five wipes to do what you can do with one cloth wipe.

onedream · 02/09/2019 17:20

Thanks everyone I'm going to order the white ones and rainbow ones and will make out boxes myself they do give mini wet bag with order now so will use that when out and about..I'm still thinking about the oil as I like the idea of them smelling nice..I am also in progress of moving to reusable nappies and gosh there is so many to choose from so if any of you can recommend some I will be very thankful..I'm currently looking at Bumgenius elemental joy (what the nappy lady recommended) and ordered a trial pack from Totsbots..

I went with Totsbots mainly because they are made in Glasgow. Not the best reason to pick them buy hey they've been ok.

I use the white cotton cheeky wipes for bum and coloured bamboo for hands / faces.

The bum ones I store damp in the box. The hands / face ones I wet as I need them. Bum ones go in the nappy bin washed with nappies, faces one's I put in the washing machine and washed with whatever happens to be next.

I'm not organised enough to remember to take cheeky wipes out with me - so I use disposable wipes when out.

onedream · 02/09/2019 19:21

@EdtheBear I don't blame you they are super cute

Love cheeky wipes! Don’t think you’ll regret it ☺️

HarrietM87 · 03/09/2019 17:41

I bought the set and use it all. I take presoaked ones out and about for ease and have a separate bag to put the dirty ones in. We use disposables on holiday and cheeky wipes are a million times better at actually cleaning your baby!
