Baby burn

This might be a silly question, but if the skin looks OK after a possible burn situation (not red, doesn't feel hot), and baby seems fine after an initial cry, is it still possible to develop into blisters later?

She grabbed the hot tap (had been run about 5 minds before) while in the bath... We're not at home and I am not used to the hot water being so ridiculously hot. She's gone to sleep fine, and I had a look about an hour later, and the skin still looks OK. Feeling very bad Blush although to be honest she cried more when her teeth were brushed afterwards.

I think any burn or scald in babies or young children should be seen by medics asap. They can react quite badly. I'd contact 111 if you haven't done so already.

Thanks, I know burns are very serious but she wasn't actually burnt. I was worried it might show up later, but all is fine. There was no redness or swelling, and she wasn't in pain, I think she just got a fright as she isn't used to things being hot, but by that point it wasn't hot enough to burn her. Looks totally fine this morning, I think I just panicked!

Do yuu mean that the metal of the tap was hot after water had been run through it, or she put her hand under the stream of hot water? Touching a metal hot tap where the water is no longer flowing (assuming not a boiling water tap) probably wouldn't cause a burn but would be hot enough to say ouch and pull the hand away. But contact with water over 60C can cause scalding.

Did you put her hand under cold water straight away?

BertieBotts yeah, just the tap, no contact with the hot water. I did put her hand in cold water after.

I wouldn't worry in that case. She probably just got a bit of a shock and wasn't hurt.
