Well i have put off potty training ds for long enough so I just stopped putting him in nappies and he just used the pot without prompting for the last few days, no accidents

He never asked to go before I stopped putting him in nappies but just seems to know what to do now

is this how its done?

No more nappies agin? I dont know what to do next!

How old is he? I can't remember. Basically, yes this is how it's done, more or less.

This is more or less what we did. After a short while, he informed us that he wasn't going to wear a nappy at night, either - and was fine!

Take a potty or travel potty out and about with you for a few weeks - suddenly needing a poo in an awkward spot can be difficult. Then encourage him to use the tpilet as well as potty - and soon he will stop using potty altogether. (and wee in the garden, car park, playground...)

thanks ladies

i am not boasting he is 2 3/4 and I have had pressure off everyone to train him earlier but trusted my instinct and waited. Just wish dd would be this easy!

thanks for the tip about the travel potty, thats what I was worrying about!

Re travel potties - we tried the Tommee Tippee collapsible one, I think it's called the Pottette. Complete waste of time, every time dd used it she peed straight over the front of it. That would probably be worse for a boy!
