Hi all, which swim nappies would you recommend? I know there are Huggies and Pampers ones but also seen that Asda do their own brand. Just want to know which people recommend as the best ones to use

I’ve used Huggies and Asda and both seemed fine, no noticeable difference. That said, my daughter has never pooped in them so they haven’t actually been tested!!

They are all much the same. Be aware that they don’t absorb liquids, they only hold in poo - so don’t think you are being really efficient by putting your baby in a swim nappy at home, before you go out to the pool.

Check how many layers your pool requires. Some want a swim nappy plus trunks/costume, some just want a drum nappy, some want a neoprene “happy nsppy” over the swim napppy.

Disposable swim nappies can also be dried out abd usef again if they haven’t been poo’ed in, as long as you don’t tear the sides.

I love the bambino mio reusable ones. You can get them from Asda or B&M for the same price as a packet of Huggies and they last a lot longer!

Before that, we used Huggies. I take him every week and, luckily, we've never had a poo situation. The wee just goes into the pool.

The biggest difference is that Asda's own are only £2 a pack. Huggies are £5. Bloody rip off.

Totsbots reusable swim nappies, they come in loads of different prints have a lot of give size wise and are environmentally friendly 🙂

Whichever you use, rinse out (if no poo) and re-use. I used one pack through two children!

Fatted · 31/08/2019 22:17

The huggies ones do not hold in poo!! I am talking from experience unfortunately here!!

Another vote for the reusable swim nappies! Bought from asda for I think about £5 a pair, and just wash alongside swimming costume

Coconutbug · 31/08/2019 22:26

I bought Bambino mio reuseable nappy for £5 from a supermarket, it lasted from my daughter being around 18 months (perhaps slightly before) to just after she turned 3. Great investment! So much nicer than the disposables aswell.

Another vote for bambino mio reusable

blahblahblahblahhh · 31/08/2019 22:32

Asda!

Celebelly · 31/08/2019 22:33

Yep we use a Bambino Mio reusable with a Happy Nappy over the top. Our lessons require double layering to stop any pooscapees and we do the same when we go swimming ourselves to avoid any disasters!

Def reusable. No probs, but then I never fully had to test it out. If a disp swim nappy doesn't hold poo then it is useless.

horse4course · 01/09/2019 09:23

Another vote for reusable. It's basically a poo containment device and reusable are better at that imho.

Also I think it's pretty rare for them to poo in the pool, too busy splashing around - dd never did.

WhyBirdStop · 01/09/2019 09:41

We use totsbots reusable and they're great and definitely hold poo! Our local pool sells the Huggies ones and during the holidays DSs swim lesson was cancelled three times due to pool visits following 'contamination'. DSs swim teacher was going mad about the disposable nappies as our was a poo leakage from one of those every time.
We also use a Konfidence babywarma wetsuit wrap thing over the top which keeps DS lovely and warm unlike the little thin UV suits that are better for the beach etc. Maybe our pool is just a bit cold but new babies often start in the swimsuits and after a few weeks are wearing the wetsuit type.

WhyBirdStop · 01/09/2019 09:44

*pool closures following contamination

Idea86 · 01/09/2019 11:45

I used splash about's reusable nappy and a half wetsuit with an inbuilt happy nappy.
The baby never poo'd so wasn't a problem.
