Hello - I had my daughter 14 months ago, prior to this I was alway 'the cold one' turning the air conditioning down in the office etc, indoors always wanted to put the heating on. However since I've had my baby, I'm running hot all the time - sweating at night and day! It's not pleasant, has anyone else experienced this? I was thinking maybe hormones but I am only 30.

I had my LO just over two months ago (I’m 29) and haven’t stopped sweating since. Even straightening my hair makes me so hot I need to sit in front of a fan.

Could be worth getting your thyroid function checked Smile

Exactly the same as me - I'm thinking of booking the doctors, although not sure what they can do, I just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same thing happen to them

@PatrickMerricksGoshawk - does post pregnancy cause this?

I had this! I struggle to maintain normal body temperature & have a mild bit of Raynauds. When I was pregnant, and for about a year after I noticed that I coped with the cold a lot better. Didn't lose circulation in my hands for at least a year after.

Sadly didn't persist. I'm back to being reptilian.

Yes I've been the same after both of my dc. And I'm on on thyroxine due to having thyroidectomy 6 years ago so I know my thyroid levels are fine.
Apparently you sweat more postpartum as it's a way of your body getting rid of the excess water you obtained when pregnant. That coupled with running around like a headless chicken with baby/toddler will make anyone sweat more! But if you notice any symptoms like rapid heart rate, insomnia, or weight loss probably best to get it checked out.

I had this. Definitely not thyroid as mines dead. It's just about nearly normal now 2 years later.

I had this after DC1. Had blood tests at GP but came back normal. It settled down eventually and have just had DC2 but it hasn’t happened this time. I think it’s a hormonal thing. It was annoying but it went away eventually.

Thanks for the replies- I'm glad I'm not the only one! So I suppose I need to just give my body time? It's just so not me

@funkymum2017 I don't know tbh Grin but if your 'baseline' temperature tolerance seems to have changed it's one of the options.
