hi everyone, i'm new to this website, but i was hoping someone could shed some light on this one. my 20 month old daughter's toilet habits usually was quite regular. 1 day without the poop, next day 3 or 4. Lately, she has been pooping 4 or 5 times a day! they are not very solid, but not runny, so i'm not sure if she might have a tummy bug? its been going on for 2 weeks now. She does have alot of fruit in her diet (so doesn't have sweets) but the change has been quite dramatic which has got me concerned. Anyone else experienced a similar change? Or should i speak to the doctor? Thanks.

my son was like that for a while it is the fruit more likely she would show other signs if it was a tummy bug try and just cut out some fruit if she has a lot of oranges that will soften it my son did have the same problem although has cleared itself up now the body may jist need to adjust just stick to certain fruit for a while and see which one it is that is softening poo and just give that in moderation its tangerines for my son anything acidic

if you are genuinly worried then it wouldn't hurt to speak to hv but the fruit is more likely the cause as it does soften

no change for us but if it helps my son (2.5) also eats loads of fruit and has never in his life done less than 3 poos a day. Sometimes they are v. soft.

Thankyou both bg and wandc. both helpful. she probably is eating more fruit lately than usual. now she can tell me what she wants, its banana or apple thats she asks for most. She doesn't have any signs of illness, but the change in her bowel movements got me a bit concerned. i will keep an eye though, and maybe leave one fruit out one week, then reintroduce it the next week to see if anything in particular is doing it. thanks again for your help.
