Sleeping through - leaking nappies

PatButcherStyleIcon · 15/08/2019 10:18

8 week old DD has started sleeping from 9-6am but every morning she has a wet sheet from the leaking nappy.

I obviously don’t want to wake her to change her nappy but I also don’t like thinking of her sleeping in her own pee.

She’s 13lb and in size 2 pampers nappies with no issues in the day.

Any advice?

Try another brand? We found pampers awful. We use aldi

Sorry, meant to say I have tried Lidl and Asda brands to no avail - but will grab some Aldi ones!

Would you consider trying cloth? Solved all my leak problems, I used ‘motherease’ 2-part nappies

Fab! I will try all options - open to trying cloth. Anything to stop her being soaked wet through in the morning.

It’s also a pain as after the 6am feed she’s back to sleep until 9:30 and I have to change her and the bedding almost every morning!

Try the next size up? When they leaked with my kids, I moved up a size!

TinyMystery · 15/08/2019 11:13

Even a (cloth) hemp booster in a disposable would probably solve your problems but if you’re open to trying cloth, I’d say go the whole hog! Motherease Sandys are amazing for nighttime, or Totsbots Bamboozles. Both need a wrap Motherease Rikki or Airflow are good, Littke Lambs are a good alternative.

Size up. Asda’s work best for my ds, he 16lbs and in size 4 sleeps 12 hours over night n stays dry. When he was a little smaller we used a 3 during the day and a 4 at night (he never poops at night so a little bit big wasn’t an issue for containing explosions)

neverornow · 15/08/2019 11:56

I used to stick an extra nappy on at nighttime. Bought a pack in the next size up and put it on over the one he was wearing.

OhWifey · 15/08/2019 14:34

Rascal and Friends stopped our leaks. Also try sizing up

My daughter is quite a heavy wetter and we use Little Lamb two part cloth nappies overnight. Never had a leak and she is in them all night, the wraps keep everything in!

titnomatani · 16/08/2019 00:17

Same happened to my son but we had no option but to change him as he would otherwise scream the place down. Lidl and Tesco pull-up pants have been a game changer. Try them OP.

13lb is too big for size 2! We’ve just swapped from Aldi to Fred & Flo for the same reason. They seem to be better.

Fridakahlofan · 16/08/2019 07:13

Love cloth! We use totsbots wrap and peenut and night. It all sounds much more complicated than it is! Good luck

Celebelly · 16/08/2019 07:15

Definitely cloth. My 6mo DD does 12 hours in hers with a couple of boosters in and no leaks. There's a really thriving second hand scene for cloth nappies too.

We've had this problem for months with 16 month old DS. Lidl nappies helped but he still was leaking. Tried rascal and friends last month and not one leak since!! I've stocked up when they were on offer. Brilliant nappy.
