What books do you recommend for a 9 month old? We currently have we're going on a bear hunt and the gruffalo (both were gifted by a family member) but not sure if they are a bit older for him?

That's not my..... range of books. Julia Donaldson flap books great too.

The Dorling Kindersly books about ‘things’ are useful - looking through and recognising objects like animals, making the noises.
Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell, all the Spot books.

It’s all about sharing the story, turning the pages, recognising things.

Join your local library, they have tons of board books!

I wouldn't go for just one type, go for variety just like with food.

Peepo is good, and anything which has thicker cardboard pages so baby can play with it, without tearing it! Our favourites are the push and slide ones with moving bits in the pages.

At 9 months short ones that rhyme, lift the flap and pop up books keep them interested.

Hooray for Fish is great
Peepo
Secret Seahorse

we like the hungry Caterpillar, guess how much I love you, that's not my.... books, and a book about colours which I was given second hand by a friend. each page has a different colour and has lots of pictures of objects and animals that colour. It has touch and feel bits as well which she always loves

mummytobabygirl17 · 13/08/2019 12:14

That’s not my books a great too. My LO loves them and so many different ones to choose from each page has a different touchy feely part.

Is Your Mama A Llama?
Little Bee
The Runaway Bunny
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Ten Minutes to Bed Little Unicorn
Any of the Dr Seuss books (for that age, Inside, Outside, Upside-Down is a good one, as is Mr Brown Can Moo Can You, but really any of the Dr Seuss ones are epic).
I also really love the puppet books like "Little Puppy" and "Snuggle Bunny" as they're interactive with the cute puppets.
