Films/news of mistreatment

Hi all, just wondering how many of you since becoming a parent has become extra specially affected by the mistreatment of children. I have always been sensitive about this subject but now I get a physical reaction to sad news stories and films/tv. I saw Sophie's Choice tonight and in one scene my stomach actually lurched and my heart stopped beating for a few seconds. I've noticed this whenever I encounter a tragedy involving children.

I suspect it's very common. I find I can't bear anything about children or animals being harmed in any way.

Sort of. I've never been great with stuff like that but I'm struggling with books just now. Mi can't read one I have on my pile because it's about a cot death or possible suffocation. I've tried a couple of times but just can't sleep and it haunts me, to real I think.

I know exactly what you mean op. Now that I have babies I cannot cope with the thought of children being hurt, neglected etc. I read a story last week about a father leaving his eleven month old twins in the car all day and they died! I have twins the same age. Every time I think about those poor babies I feel illSad
It’s the same when I’m out and about. If O hear a baby crying I want to pick it up. I was in the supermarket last week and a woman was in with her little baby. The baby was howling in distress and the women was just blanking him. I wanted to pick him up and run off with him!

I think it must be common. I find stuff about kids too hard to handle.
