Pram in the Hold?

hellocoffee · 30/07/2019 20:31

Off on holiday soon and flying with EasyJet. Would like to take our bugaboo pram with us but worried its going to get scratched up and bashed about in the hold? It cost us an arm and a leg so we would be gutted if it was damaged.

FTM so just interested to know whether this is really a problem or will it be fine you think?

I would take a cheaper buggy instead

Cheaper buggy perhaps? or buy a carry case for it to protect.

Get a second hand umbrella fold one - your bugaboo will be damaged! I didn't take our icandy for the same reason and got a cheap maclaren one from Facebook marketplace.

Thanks! It is a toss up between our regular pram and a cheaper stroller but as DS is 6 months and it's a city break we wanted the regular pram for comfort and the ability to lie him horizontally for naps.

Lots of cheaper strollers lie flat - ours does and DS napped in it on holiday.

You need a baby jogger city mini. Walk up to gate, take baby out pick up by handle it collapses and you keep walking. Bugaboo= major faff + you risk wrecking it.

Bjcm also very good for everyday. Get one and you will use it not on holiday instead of bugaboo, thats what I did. They lie flatvand have a good sunshade.

Plus when I had dc2 i used it from birth as its so flat.

We got a cheapo one off Amazon and have used it on loads of planes. It’s super tough. Zeta zoom I think it’s called. We also put my 5 month old in it in Oz and while it doesn’t recline flat it does recline a bit.

We've got a Joie one - doesn't look great but lies flat, good rain cover, manages cobbles well and I can collapse it one handed whilst juggling multiple bags and heavy toddler. It's not worth the risk getting a decent buggy ruined in the hold.
